REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION IN COLD HOMICIDE CASE

Newark – Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who killed Newark Liberty International Airport employee Bruce Santos, 26, of Newark.

During the evening hours of Feb. 27, 2013 Santos was shot in downtown Newark in a possible attempted robbery while waiting at the bus stop at Broad and Camp Street in Newark. He was rushed to University Hospital where he later died.

Detectives with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office believe Santos was a victim of a robbery. Shortly after the homicide the ECPO released a sketch of a suspect, described as a male with dreadlocks in his 20s. Attached is a copy of the sketch.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
