Parties Indicted in Blood Street Gang Conspiracy
Acting Prosecutor Donald C. Campolo announced today the return of eight indictments by an Essex County Grand
Jury charging twenty-four Blood Street Gang Members with charges of Conspiracy to Commit Racketeering,
Racketeering, Conspiracy to Violate the Narcotic Laws and various narcotic, weapons offenses, Conspiracy to
Witness Tamper and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. These indictments stem from the most comprehensive
gang investigation in the State of New Jersey. The investigation, which began in January 2001, was led by the
Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Gang Intelligence Unit.

DAVID ALLEN, who was the Original Gangster or O.G. of the 9 Tre Gangster supervised, managed and directed
the illegal narcotics operation for the 9 Tre Gangster set, of the Bloods Street Gang, and shared in the profits of
those illegal activities. DAVID ALLEN, OMAR TINDELL, JAMEEL RIDLEY, RASHON LEAKS, DESHAWN
WINSTON, TERRELL CARTER,who were all soldiers, all conspired to violate the narcotic laws. All were
charged by way of the indictment with Second Degree Conspiracy, Second Degree Racketeering, Third and Second
Degree Narcotic Offenses.
On a separate indictment TEWAN BUTLER, age 22 of East Orange, a/k/a MASSACRE, STEVEN BUTLER, age 18,
PELE BROWN, age 20 from East Orange, MOSES RIDDICK, age 20, were charged with Second Degree
Conspiracy, Second Degree Racketeering, and narcotics offenses. They allegedly committed these acts between
January 31, 200l and April 1, 2001 in Newark, Irvington and other areas of Essex County. TEWAN BUTLER was
named as the original gangster of the Double II Set of the Blood Street Gang. The other defendants were all solders
in the Double Set II Blood Street Gang.

On a separate indictment, MICHAEL MICKEL, age 29, ALTERIQUE MCMICKEL, age 24 from Newark,
LATIQUE MAYSE, RAHMAN LOYAL, age 21 from Newark, KENNETH DURANT, age 22 from Irvington,
QUADDI THOMAS, age 23 and SULTAN COLEMAN, age 26 from Newark were charged with Second Degree
Conspiracy, Second Degree Racketeering and Second and Third Degree Narcotic and Weapons offenses from
January 31, 2001 through April 1, 2001.

The indictment alleged that they conducted their illegal activities between October 29, 2000 and April 1, 2001.

The indictment alleges that MICHAEL MICKEL and ALTERIQUE MCMICKEL held the status of 101 of the 7
Deuce Mob Piru set within the Bloods Street Gang. LATIQUE MAYSE, RAHMAN LOYAL, KENNETH
DURANT, QUADDI THOMAS, and SULTAN COLEMAN were the solders.

An indictment against HAKEEM MALONEY, age 25, a blood member, was returned by an Essex County Grand
Jury charging him with five counts. This indictment stems from this investigation charging HAKEEM MALONEY
with Third Degree Conspiracy, Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Third Degree
Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute, Third Degree Possession of CDS within 1,000 Feet of a School and
Fourth Degree Possession of Paraphernalia between February 28, 2001 and March 23, 2001 in East Orange and
Irvington and other areas in Essex County.

The investigation also resulted in an indictment against AMIR THOMPSON age 20 from Newark, a blood member,
charging him with five counts including Third Degree Conspiracy, Fourth Degree Possession of Paraphernalia,
Third Degree Unlawful Possession of an Assault Firearm, Fourth Degree Possession of a Defaced Weapon and
Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Prohibited Weapon/Device. SHIHAB LOYAL, age 20 from Newark, a
blood member, was also charged in the same indictment with two counts, Third Degree Conspiracy and Fourth
Degree Possession of Paraphernalia. The indictment alleges that between February 10, 2001 and March 7, 2001 in
the City of Newark that these defendants allegedly committed these acts.

The Grand Jury also returned an indictment against the following blood members based on the investigation:
SABEER BRUNSON, age 20 from Newark, MICHAEL MOORE age 20 from Newark and OMAR AUSTIN, age 21
from Newark a/k/a ANTWAN BRINSON. They were charged with two counts -- Third Degree Conspiracy to
Commit Robbery on February 27, 2001 in Irvington, New Jersey and SABEER BRUNSON and MICHAEL
MOORE were charged with Conspiracy to Violate the Narcotic Laws between February 8, 2001 and February 23,
2001 in the Newark and Irvington.

The Grand Jury also returned an indictment against blood member RAHEEM SPRUILL, age 22 from Newark
charging him with Third Degree Conspiracy to Commit Narcotics Offenses between February 14 and 21, 2001.

The Grand Jury also returned an indictment against ESTER REDDICK, age 46 from East Orange, the mother of
MOSES REDDICK, age 20 from East Orange. She was charged by the Grand Jury with three counts of narcotics
offenses including Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Second Degree Possession of a
Controlled Dangerous Substance with intent to Distribute, and Second Degree Employing a Juvenile in narcotic
activity on March 23, 2001 in East Orange, New Jersey.
