ADMINISTRATION & PERSONNEL SUPPORT

As with most every complicated organization, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office requires a support staff who provide and maintain an appropriate setting for key activities like case investigation and legal processing. The Prosecutor's Office maintains Administration and Personnel Support Sections, which include two budget analysts, a facilities coordinator, a vehicles coordinator, a grants coordinator, two timekeepers, and a clerical assistant. This Section provides a wide range of services, including:

• oversight of the Office's $31 million operating budget and its forfeiture funds
• grant management support for the office's 14 major grant-funded programs,   totaling over $1 million per year.
• purchasing assistance and documentation
• delivery receiving
• timekeeping, payroll reporting and assistance for almost 500 employees
• facilities planning and management for seven various site locations
• cooperation with program and financial auditors
• liaison with Essex County government support functions.

The Office's investigators and assistant prosecutors depend upon these Sections to take care of the basics, such that they can devote their attention to the issue of crime in Essex County.
